Please take note of the following:
- If you have already completed an undergraduate qualification within the IIE and wish to register for a new undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at IIE MSA, you will need to submit an application.
- As a returning IIE student, you are exempt from the application fee. Therefore, please disregard any system-generated correspondence requesting payment towards an application fee. However, please note that you will be required to pay a pre-registration fee of R2 500 later in the application process when you accept your offer to study.
Follow all the required steps below in order to register for your new qualification in 2024:
Step 1 | Follow the link below and complete the application form.
If you happen to see an error message pop up after submitting your new application (like the examples shown below), don't worry! It's just our system merging your new application with your existing profile. Rest assured, your application will still be received and evaluated by our Admissions Team.
Step 2 | You will receive an application confirmation letter once you have applied. To ensure that you don't miss out on this email, please keep an eye on your MSA Connect and personal mailboxes. This letter confirms that we have received your application and also includes your Application Portal login credentials. These credentials will be required to manage your new application. It is important to remember that until your admission into the degree is confirmed, you are considered an Applicant for the purposes of your application towards the degree for 2024. In relation to the results of your 2023 studies, you will still need to select 'Student' when logging in to the system. Your Student Number and MSA Connect email address will remain the same.
Step 3 | Once your application has been reviewed by the Admissions Team and assuming that your 2023 account is in good standing, you will become eligible to receive an Offer Letter for admission to the new qualification. In some cases, you may receive a Provisional Offer while you await your results for your current qualification. The letter will, therefore, specify the condition(s) that must be met before your admission into the new qualification can be approved. Alternatively, if you have already graduated (or completed your last module in July 2023), you may receive a Firm Offer.
| |
Step 4 | Next, you must accept your offer and pay the pre-registration fee. If you have received your offer letter, you can ACCEPT your offer by following these steps:
| |
Your Offer Letter will stipulate the expiry date of the offer. You are required to accept the offer prior to the expiry date since offers are issued based on capacity for the respective qualification at the time of issue. If you do not accept the offer, it will expire.
Step 5 | After accepting your offer, you will need to pay a pre-registration fee of R2 500. To do so, simply access the "Online Payments" option in the left-hand menu, check the invoice for the pre-registration fee, and click on "Make Payment". If there is no invoice, please make sure that you have accepted your offer. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete your payment via credit card. If you do not have a credit card, select the OZOW option, which is a payment service that allows you to pay directly using your existing internet banking (EFT) facility.
If you choose to pay the pre-registration fee of R2,500 through EFT or on campus instead of using your Application Portal, it may cause a delay in the progress of your application. The payment will need to be manually allocated to your application only after it is reflected in our account. Moreover, please make sure that you use your application number (beginning with “AP”) as a reference for your pre-registration payment, and not your student number. This will ensure that your payment is allocated to your application and not your current student account.
Step 6 | After you have accepted your offer and paid the pre-registration fee, your admission will be approved, provided that you fulfil any conditions mentioned in your offer letter. Once you meet all the requirements, you will receive an email inviting you to register for the new qualification when 2024 registration opens in January 2024. |
Study Visa for International Students It is important to note that if your current study visa is set to expire in December 2023, you will receive a Study Visa Letter along with your offer letter. Once you receive this, please make sure that you submit your proof of application for the new study visa to the Admissions Team. Without this proof of application (VFS Receipt), your admission into the new qualification cannot be approved. On the other hand, if your current study visa only expires in 2024, your admission may be approved. However, it is your responsibility to request a Study Visa Letter from the Admissions Office 90 days prior to your visa expiry date. You can log this request via MSA Assist. |
