What is Cares Committee?
The cares committee is solely responsible for all student events and activities, related to the holistic wellbeing, citizenship, cultural and community engagement aspects of the student experience. The Cares committee is the student committee and student volunteer body that assists the Student Wellness Specialist in promoting and creating citizenship opportunities amongst the students, planning and executing the community engagement initiatives both on and off campus and assists with psycho-social awareness and student wellness campaigns.
The aim and objectives of the cares committees include:
- Promote the interests of the students it represents.
- Ensure citizenship, cultural and community engagement programs are well organised and cover a diverse range of needs.
- Create a safe environment for students to learn and interact.
Students can sign up for the cares committee once a year and remain committed to the students and committee they serve. Additionally, students can sign up and join the volunteer group on campus who work collaboratively with the cares committee to execute events / campaigns effectively.
