
The cares committee is solely responsible for all student events and activities, related to the holistic wellbeing, citizenship, cultural and community engagement aspects of the student experience. The Cares committee is the student committee and student volunteer body that assists the Student Wellness Specialist in promoting and creating citizenship opportunities amongst the students, planning and executing the community engagement initiatives both on and off campus and assists with psycho-social awareness and student wellness campaigns.
The aim and objectives of the Emeris Cares Committees include:
- Promote the participation of the chosen community outreach beneficiaries.
- Facilitating student participation in association with psycho-social wellness challenges through community outreach, volunteerism and awareness campaigns.
- Create a safe environment for students to learn and interact.
- Ensuring interactions and events foster a diversity, inclusivity and belonging for all students
Students can sign up for the cares committee once a year and remain committed to the students and committee they serve. Additionally, students can sign up and join the volunteer group on campus who work collaboratively with the cares committee to execute events / campaigns effectively.
