Who is my student wellness navigator/student counsellor?


The Student Wellness Navigator located on your campus is a registered professional, registered as a social worker with the SACSSP or a registered counsellor with the HPCSA, which grant/authorise license to practice, and further oversee the ethical standards of practicing health care professionals.  

 

Your student wellness Navigator on campus provides students will the opportunity to book free and confidential counselling sessions, limited to 6 sessions per student and available to discuss psychological, academic, personal or any challenge you may be experiencing.  

 

They provide awareness campaigns, which talk to current challenges or trends taking place globally or internationally, these take the form of workshops, discussions, support groups and more.  


Lastly, your student wellness navigator is responsible for community engagement initiatives on and off campus, these initiatives ensure sustainability and assist in the development of nation building through empowering individuals to make meaningful contributions to their spheres of influence. Along with community engagement, the Cares committee on campus are instrumental in ensuring the successful implementation of wellness initiatives.
