How does counselling Work?
Only professionally registered counsellors provide counselling at any IIE Campus. Specific to the IIE Vega School Campus, counselling services are provided primarily by the Student Wellness Navigator.
The Student Wellness Navigator offers a range of psychological and counselling services to students, including psychological issues, personal concerns, interpersonal issues, and crisis intervention services. The Student Wellness Navigator offers short-term, psychological, and preventative intervention that focuses on supporting and promoting the wellbeing of students.
Counselling sessions at an IIE campus are limited to 6 sessions per student. These support sessions are available face-to-face, online, and telephonically. Should you require more long term / specialist assistance, referral options will be discussed. Referral options include public and private resources tailored to the needs of the student. All referrals are at the discretion of the student to attend and prioritize their own mental health and wellbeing.
Counselling services can only be provided to students by a registered and practicing professions affiliated with the SACSSP or HPCSA board, which grant / authorise license to practice, and further oversee the ethical standards of practicing health care professionals.
Should you require more information, please reach out to your Student Wellness Navigator on campus.
