The Student Wellness Specialist and / or Student Counsellor are registered professionals, registered with either the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a registered counsellor or with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP) as a registered social worker. Therefore, the Student Wellness Specialist and / or Student Counsellor cannot write an exemption letter for a concession. Students are required to apply for assessment accommodation support via the Emeris Assist platform, where the student will be required to submit the necessary supporting documentation.

For an assessment accommodation where a student experiences barriers to learning, students are expected to submit a full Psycho-Educational Assessment conducted by an external Educational Psychologist / Psychometrist.

The Student Wellness Specialist and / or Student Counsellor can provide referral options to students of external Educational Psychologists / Psychometrists who will be able to assess the student.

Should you require additional information regarding the wellness services, booking a counselling consultation or applying for an accommodation, please reach out to your Student Wellness Specialist and / or Student Counsellor.
