Community outreach is a form of community engagement that addresses the development needs of a community. Outreach is often used to promote awareness, build relationships and provide access to resources, information, or services. Outreach is also intended to create opportunities for mutual learning and exchange, and to promote positive change and impact.
Community engagement initiatives are efforts designed to involve and mobilize members of a community in activities that address local needs, enhance the quality of life, and foster a sense of belonging and collaboration. These initiatives aim to build stronger, more connected communities by encouraging active participation and dialogue among residents, organizations, and institutions.
Therefore, engaging in community engagement initiatives includes the following benefits:

The Student Wellness Specialist advertises community engagement events / initiatives, where transport is provided, students are informed and requested to secure their seat.
Transport is provided for majority of the community engagement initiatives; however, students are requested to confirm with the Student Wellness Specialist prior to the commencement of the event.
Off campus community engagement initiatives are advertised on the following channels:
- Campus community WhatsApp group
- Online platforms such as email / SMS.
