What is the procedure for Lost Assessments?


If you have a query regarding an assessment, you must log this on VC Assist via the Campus Queries “Assessment Query” category, and your campus will assist you. 



Should your campus find that your assessment is lost, the procedures below may apply: 

 

Procedure to manage lost invigilated assessments:
  • If the attendance record indicates that a student did not attend the assessment, then the student’s record must reflect “absent”, and effectively the student is rewarded a 0% for the assessment.  
  • If the attendance register indicates that the student did attend the assessment, or the campus is unable to produce the attendance register, the student can choose between the following options: 
  • Access to the deferred sitting if possible 
  • Receiving the CASS mark for the lost formative assessment 
  • Receiving their average of all other assessments in the module (formative and summative)  

 

Procedure to manage lost non-invigilated assessments:


If the submission sheet or gradebook on the LMS indicates that the student did not submit the assessment as per the submission requirements and deadline, then the student’s record needs to indicate “absent” and effectively the student receives 0% for the assessment 


If the campus cannot produce the submission sheet for the assessment, then the student must submit the assessment within 24 hours of being requested to do so and the assessment is marked without penalty.
