How do I apply for a deferred test/exam sitting?

  • Students do not automatically qualify for a deferred assessment opportunity; these must be applied for via the Student Hub
  • Students who are unable to attempt the standard sitting can apply for a maximum of two deferments per academic year.
  • Applications in line with the permitted legitimate reasons must be accompanied by the appropriate evidence and must be made either before, or within five working days of the missed standard sitting/submission.
  • These opportunities are granted at the discretion of the Office of the Registrar. If a student does not apply for a deferred sitting/submission on time with the required evidence or is denied the deferred sitting, the student’s record will reflect “absent”, and the student will effectively receive 0% for the missed assessment.

For further information regarding deferred assessments, please refer to Principle 4.6 of the PDIIE009: ASSESSMENT CRITERIA, MINIMUM STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES Policy document.
