What does Assessment Support for learning concession & needs mean?

Students, who by virtue of different abilities or challenges that are a result of physical, mental or cognitive challenges have the right, once admitted, to access services that will provide an equitable chance of success.  Reasonable accommodation that protects student dignity is made for students who are differently-abled and who have different learning needs – in terms of general access as well as within the teaching and learning environment.

Student support and assistance is fundamental to ensuring student success and consequently, students who experience barriers to learning such as chronic / physical conditions, psychological or special needs, need to be granted special concessions and accommodations for tests and exams. To determine the necessary eligibility and accommodations required, early disclosure is imperative. Early disclosure ensures all applications are processed and all support structures are implemented to ensure learning environments are equitable and conducive.
