What should I do if my credit load exceeds 180 credits?

The “normal” workload for an academic year is 120 credits or 1200 notional hours of learning at undergraduate level. The credit load for students in any year of study is capped at 180 credits, including repeat subjects.

Should it be necessary to increase your credit load to more than 180 credits an application needs to be made via IIE VC Assist.

Please note:

We strongly recommend that you reach out to your campus Student Relations Specialist (SRS), Head Academic Operations and Head Academic teams before applying for increase in credit load. This will ensure that you receive the necessary academic counselling and support as increase in credit load would place additional pressure on your academic journey.
