I am not able to write my test/exam at my campus, can I request to write at another IIE Campus?
Students may within a limited number of reasons apply to write a formative or summative assessment at another IIE campus. This is limited to once per academic year.
Students registered in the contact mode are automatically registered to write on the campus at which you are registered.
Applications to write an another IIE Campus must be made via the Student Hub within a certain time frame as outlined in the table below. If the nature of the reason makes it not possible for the student to write in a different location, students may then apply for a deferred assessment but must do so at least 10 working days before the assessment.
The below outlines the location-based reasons for concessions that students may apply for:
- Eligibility:
- Full-time contact students repeating a module and studying or working at a location other than their main campus may apply to write their assessment in a different location.
- Application Submission:
- Applications must be submitted via the Student Hub at least 10 working days before the scheduled assessment date.
- Limitations:
- Students may only apply for this concession once per academic year.
- Required Documentation:
- Details of the site and the contact information of the invigilator for verification.
- A letter from the institution confirming they can accommodate the student and provide contact information for where the assessment paper should be sent.
- A letter from the invigilator confirming they will abide by the rules for the assessment.
- Additional Information:
- For applications to write in a different location:
- If the student is in a city where no IIE campus or centre exists or is out of the country, the student is responsible for identifying a site (e.g., a religious site, embassy/consulate, or educational institution) where the exam can be written.
- If the student is in hospital, they must identify a suitable invigilator. Costs for this arrangement are the responsibility of the student.
- The examination must be written at the same time as it is scheduled in South Africa.
- For applications to write in a different location:
