IIE Assist

Teaching Experience is a critical component of our Teacher Education programmes and is governed by The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and The IIE 006 WIL Policy. Time in school offers aspiring teachers the invaluable opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and practice, to learn both from and in practice and to be mentored by experienced classroom teachers. 

The specific requirements of each Teaching Experience module are detailed in the module material. Teaching Experience modules are credit-bearing, and a student cannot graduate if they have not completed their Teaching Experience modules successfully.
