Can I practice as a psychologist once I complete my 3 year degree?


No. The Bachelor of Social Science and Bachelor of Arts degree equips you for various career paths for example, some individuals with a psychology degree pursue roles as researchers, delving into scientific studies to gain deeper insights into the workings of the human mind.  


To become a psychologist, you must fulfil the following requirements: a three-year undergraduate degree, followed by a one- or two-year honours degree, then a one- or two-year master's degree, along with an internship. In order to register as psychologist, with the HPCSA you have to complete and pass a board exam.
