
The appeals procedure allows you to request that a decision be reviewed, where an appeal is permitted under the relevant Emeris policy or process.
It is important to select the correct appeal option on Emeris Assist, as different types of appeals are handled through different processes.
How do I submit an appeal?
- Go to Emeris Assist and select the appeal option that matches your situation. Make sure that you include:
- a clear explanation of the decision you are appealing
- the reason for your appeal
- any supporting evidence or documents
- the outcome you are requesting
- You can access the following appeal options on Emeris Assist:
- Disciplinary Appeal - Use this option if you want to appeal the outcome of a disciplinary hearing, including the penalty imposed. Click here.
- Intellectual Integrity Appeal - Use this option if you want to appeal a decision related to an intellectual integrity matter, such as plagiarism, collusion or another academic integrity concern. Click here.
- Assessment Appeals: Denied Concession - Use this option if your application for an assessment concession was declined and you want the decision to be reviewed. Click here.
- Assessment Appeals: Unfair Assessment Process - Use this option if you believe the assessment process was unfair or not correctly followed. Click here.
- Cancellation Appeals - Use this option if you want to appeal a cancellation-related decision. Click here.
Important to know
For disciplinary appeals, you must submit your appeal within five working days of receiving the written outcome of the disciplinary hearing. Your appeal must be based on one or more valid grounds, such as a procedural error, new evidence, the merits of the case, or the penalty imposed.
